Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.

“A Hungarian teenager decided to fix the lack of female superheroes and posted Photoshops of gender-bending Avengers to her Tumblr page.”

Not sure I agree with all of these casting choices but YES. (This is originally from Tumblr user Dismilus. I tried to find the originals but alas.)

“This is the Trek equivalent of the Marvel universe right now, where the story happening in the Marvel movies all connect up, and also spill over and connect up with the TV shows like Agents of SHIELD or Agent Carter or Daredevil. It’s all woven together, events happening simultaneously in lots of different forms (like the events at the end of Captain America 2: Winter Soldier spilling over into the end of season 1 of Agents of SHIELD. You see?) It’s just like that, but for Star Trek.”

Panelteer Peter writes about the expansive Star Trek universe in novels over at our sister site, Book Riot.

“I was volunteering in the MoCCA booth at a small con. A male industry veteran came by the booth and said to the dude manning it with me, without ever looking at me, “You need to spruce this booth up a bit. Put her in a bikini; that’d be great.””
