Retrofit Comics 2016

Have you heard of Retrofit Comics/Big Planet Comics? If you haven’t, you’re missing out on some of the best indie comics and most interesting up-and-coming comics talent there is. I love what they are doing, and Eric has written about interesting comics to check out from them, so I was really excited to see they have a Kickstarter in progress to publish their next 6 books, with stretch goals for 6 more. Big Planet Comics is my local comics shop, so I can personally vouch for the quality of what they’re doing, as well as their friendliness to all patrons.

Recommended pledge: $20 gets you digital editions of the 6 comics, while $36 gets you digital + print.

the pride

The Pride, Vol. 1: LGBTQ Superheroes

The Pride follows FabMan as he decides to form a team of all LGBTQ superheroes to stand up to the common misrepresentations and ignorance of the world.”

Basically, everything about this sounds amazing. I love it when Kickstarter puts a book out into the world that probably wouldn’t get picked up by a traditional publisher.

Recommended pledge: $29 gets you a hardcover print copy of the book.
