FRIDAY FORUM: So….um….book trailers?
In today’s Critical Linking, I included a story from The Los Angeles Times on the rising cost and complexity of book trailers. It seems that some serious cash (up to 50k) and concentration are going into these things, especially for genre fiction.
Maybe my lit fic fan-boyism puts me outside of the target demographic for these things, but while I find book trailers interesting as a concept, I’ve seen about three that I thought were interesting. (About ten times that many have been outright embarrassing.)
So here’s what I’m interested in hearing from you guys:
What’s the best book trailer you’ve seen?
Do you watch many?
Would you watch more if they were better?
Has a book trailer led you to check out a book?
