I love Saga so much I want to marry it!
Well, not really. But it is awesome, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you kind of, sort of, maybe should. Like, my editors even recorded a whole podcast episode about it.
Today’s character spotlight is on Lying Cat, the sidekick of The Will. Her name doesn’t mean she’s a liar-liar-pants-on-fire cat, but that if anyone she can hear is telling a lie, she’ll know, and she’ll speak up about it. The only word she utters is “lying,” and she’ll come out with it no matter what – even if you’re joking or being sarcastic.
Let’s start with this fab Lying Cat by Alexis Alcázar Calzada, a freelance artist from Spain. I love the thick, bright colors and her thoughtful expression.
Next up is this watercolor piece by Megan Lynn Kott. I’m always really impressed by folks who are this accomplished in that particular medium. I bow down to your mad skills.
And now, time for something cuddly and adorable. Here’s a Lying Cat fleece plush made by a Canadian crafter, couch-stuffs. I want one!
And while we’re on the subject of adorable versions of Lying Cat, here’s a little one, crying “fibbing” by Abby Ryder. D’awww.
Lying Cat sculpture by Bethany Wurl, who seems to primarily make models of horses. I’m glad to see this is one of the exceptions, because it looks great.
Ronnie Mena is really good at makeup art/face painting! Check out his page for more amazing stuff, because whoa.
We’ll leave things here on a super colorful note with this great piece by Amy Churchwell. Wild~
