Last week, we debuted our live Spreecast video series, “Off Topic,” hosted by author (Practical Classics comes out in the spring!) and new Book Rioter Kevin Smokler. The show is all about digging into the non-book stuff that book people are into–we are multidimensional beings, after all–and it got me thinking. It got me thinking about you, dear readers.

We’ve known each other for a while now, and things get personal around here every now and then, so I feel like it’s OK to ask. What do you do when you’re not reading? What are your other hobbies, passions, avocations, and time-wasters?

Me? I dig 90s hip-hop (and, all right, most other forms of 90s music), cooking, TV (good stuff like Breaking Bad and Mad Men, and some really horrible stuff, too–coughJerseyShorecough), trying new local restaurants, and travel. I’m learning how to read wine labels; I’ve nailed the way to pack a laptop bag that’s not a disaster after going through security; and I can quote almost the entire dinner-table-prayer scene from Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Three cheers for being well-rounded (or something).

And now it’s your turn. I showed you mine, so tell me, fellow Rioteers, what do you do when you’re not reading?
