What’s On Your Nightstand?

Thank you all for your enthusiastic participation in our first installment of this new regular feature. As all of us book nerds/geeks/dorks know, discussing what’s on our nightstands/TBR piles is ongoing. Even for the rigid few who have the same books there week after week, there are things to be said about the reading of them. Right?

My own nightstand is sagging right now under the weight of nine books that came in late last week that I decided had to be read RIGHT AWAY. The only trouble is, even with the plethora of e-readers and tablets and other gadgets in the world, there is no way to read two textually-based objects at the same time, let alone nine of them! I’ve had to content myself with reading just one: The Middlesteins by Jami Attenberg, which will be out in October from Grand Central Press.

However, here are a few of the other titles vying for my attention this week, to get you started:

Between You and Me by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Krauss

Defending Jacob by William Landay

An Unexpected Guest by Anne Korkeakiv

Drop Dead Healthy by A.J. Jacobs

The Singles by Meredith Goldstein

All right, what about you? Can’t wait to read this week’s comments!
