Who isn’t struggling with the wait for Onyx Storm to be released? Rebecca Yarros’ Empyrean series came on strong with the first two books, Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, releasing in quick succession, and now we’ve all been tapping our feet, eagerly awaiting book number three. January 21 is so, so close. Our preorders are in. Those midnight release parties are booked. And yet, there are still days to go and books to read.

Fear not, because I have a handful of amazing romantasy books that you can read right now. You won’t find any Sarah J. Maas or Jennifer Armentrout or “A [Noun] of [Nouns] and [Nouns]” books here. If you clicked on this article, you’ve already read those. These five books are all romantasy, if not the conventional type flooding bestseller lists.
