The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists
As has been the norm recently, the bestseller lists can’t seem to agree on anything. The New York Times bestseller list is especially ornery: while The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins is #1 on every other big nonfiction bestseller list, it doesn’t appear on the NYT’s at all. In fact, there isn’t one title this week that appears in the top 10 of all five of the biggest bestseller lists.
We do have a couple of new titles in the round-up this week, though. One is Story of My Life, the newest release by beloved romance author Lucy Score. The other is Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams, a tell-all memoir from Facebook’s former global director of public policy. It made the news recently when Meta filed a lawsuit that resulted in her not being able to promote the book because it would cause “immediate and irreparable loss” to the company. Of course, that just made a lot more readers curious about its contents.
This list continues to have a lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami, Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, and One Day, Everyone Will Have Always Been Against This by Omar El Akkad.
To get these numbers, we look at the USA Today overall top 10; Publishers Weekly overall top 10; The New York Times top 10, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts top 10, both Fiction and Nonfiction; and Indie Bestsellers top 10, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover. New additions to the list this week are bolded.
