The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists
The new year has begun in earnest, but because the bestseller lists report on figures from two weeks ago, they’re still in holiday hibernation. This week’s round-up is exceptionally short, because only a handful of titles sold consistently enough in that time period to end up on multiple bestseller lists. There are no brand-new titles here, but unsurprisingly, Atomic Habits by James Clear has popped up again alongside the new year’s resolution season.
This list continues to have a lack of diversity on many levels, including being disproportionately by white authors. Some Indie Bestsellers you should know about are Martyr! by Kaveh Akbar, The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters, and The Message by Ta-Nehisi Coates.
To get these numbers, we look at the USA Today overall top 10; Publishers Weekly overall top 10; The New York Times top 10, both Combined Print & E-Book Fiction and Combined Print & E-Book Nonfiction lists; Amazon Charts top 10, both Fiction and Nonfiction; and Indie Bestsellers top 10, Fiction and Nonfiction, both Paperback and Hardcover. New additions to the list this week are bolded.
