A Bibliomaniac Does Her Taxes: A Story in Gifs
I love books.
And I have a lot of them.
Despite my best efforts (hahahaha) to stop buying so many, I still bought a ton last year. Which is fine, because they make me happy.
(So, yes, my house looks like this.)
2015 was my first year as a full-time freelance book reviewer and blogger. This past weekend, I went to my accountant to have my taxes done. Correctly. Because I am bad at math.
So I handed her the receipts from my book purchases.
And as she added them up, she looked like this:
She told me how much I had spent.
She said it again.
I was like:
She asked if I had read them all yet.
She suggested this year I try buying fewer books.
Because in my book-obsessed mind, this means I need to beat my book-spending record.
When I got home, my boyfriend asked me how much I spent on books in 2015.
I do have a lot of books, though. So for the remainder of 2016, I’ll try not to buy as many.
