Cover Face-Off: HAUSFRAU by Jill Alexander Essbaum
Hausfrau by Jill Alexander Essbaum was one of the books that I read knowing nothing about it–back when I was only a Book Riot reader–thanks to two Rioters. The cover called to me in Rebecca’s Inbox/Outbox post because it reminded me of ceramic flowers in my grandmother’s house growing up and Rachel Smalter Hall posted in Peek Over Our Shoulders that she was reading it “because I like my protagonists a little dark and disturbed.” AND SOLD. I downloaded the ebook, which at the time had the same cover as the hardback, and devoured the book. Now the paperback is set to release on August 4, 2015 with new cover art. I have lots of thoughts. Opinions, really. But there’s some vague saying I think about not having something nice to say… So I’m just going to leave this here and wait for all your thoughts. Which do you like better? If you were blindly picking a book based on cover which would you read?
