Best of Book Riot: Bookish Teapots

To celebrate the end of the year, we’re running some of our favorite posts from the last six months. We’ll be back with all-new stuff on January 7th. _________________________ Few things in this world go together with such perfection as a book and a cup of tea (which is why C.S. Lewis said “You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me”). And once you become a tea lover, it’s easy to fall down the rabbit hole of tea paraphernalia. Fancy teacups! Specialty teas! Tea bags made of silk (those are real)! And don’t forget the ultimate intersection of bookishness and tea-loving: the bookish teapot. Here are a few favorites, and some that are best described as…odd: A Poe-inspired pot by Steve McGovney, priced at $380. Peter Rabbit teapot designed by James Sadler. It’s no longer available new, but maybe you could find it online somewhere…? Charles Dickens teapot and Jane Austen Collectors Teapots This teapot is actually DIY-ed from an old silver one someone found, and I thought it would be great for a fan of The Night Circus Book lover’s teapot As pointed out here, this anatomical heart teapot would be a great gift along with this hardcover Penguin edition of Frankenstein. You know, for the mad scientist in your life. No joke- this is a teapot. Scarlet’s hand is the spout, and her other arm is the handle. Her head comes off at the bust (I KNOW) to fill it. Various and sundry Sherlock Holmes teapots.
