New FIREFLY Book Series Announced!
Attention, Browncoats. Your attention, please. Are you sitting down? 20th Century Fox and Titan Books are working on a series of novels set in the Firefly universe. That’s right — a new Firefly book series!
The short-lived television series and unfortunate feature film ultimately did not deliver on their promise, but there were a lot of good ideas that I hope a book series can expand upon. (A novel about Kaylee in the vein of Cobalt Squadron, pleeeeeeease.)
According to EW.com, Joss Whedon will serve as Consulting Editor on the series, which is…not great, and I would very much prefer Tim Minear. Of the three announced books and authors, only one is written by a woman and none seem to be about Kaylee, so WE SHALL SEE. I am cautiously optimistic.
