The British bookstore chain Waterstones recently held what is apparently called a #bookstameet: they invited a bunch of Instagrammers to their store in Piccadilly Circus, where Emma Cline read from her debut novel, The Girls. After the reading, everyone got to wander around the store (which was closed at the time) to browse all the books and take all the pictures.

Waterstones Piccadilly is the largest bookshop in Europe and it is PRETTY. There are six floors, multiple cafes, and, according to their website, over eight miles of bookshelves. It occupies what used to be Simpsons department store, overlooking beautiful, bustling Piccadilly.

Here’s a glimpse of the store as seen through the eyes of some lovely British bookstagrammers…

Isn’t it pretty? This whole event sits right at the intersection of my interests (Bookshops! London! Instagram!) and I love it.

If you want more bookish Instagram, you can always come say hi to Book Riot (@bookriot) or me (@childerschristy.) Waterstones itself has a great Instagram as well (@waterstones) as does Vintage Books UK, who helped put on this event (@vintagebooksuk.)
