Debbie Reese
Welcome to Reading Lives, an interview podcast with interesting people who love books. My guest this week is Debbie Reese. Debbie is tribally enrolled at Nambe Pueblo, a federally recognized tribe in New Mexico. She has a Phd in education and writes American Indians in Children’s Literature (AICL), which is a website that provides critical perspectives and analysis of indigenous peoples in children’s and young adult books, the school curriculum, popular culture, and society. We talk about playing library as a child, revisiting problematic books as an adult, lifetime mentorships, and more.
Thanks so much to Debbie for being my guest and to you for listening. Her website is American Indians in Children’s Literature and you can follow her on twitter at @debreese.
