10 Bookish Keep Calm Posters
The Keep Calm meme originated in 1939 when the British government printed a limited number of motivational posters designed to encourage stoicism and bravery in the face of World War II bombings. The posters were never used for their intended purpose and were forgotten until 2000, when a shopkeeper discovered one in a book and displayed it in his shop. It garnered so much interest that he decided to reproduce and sell it, and “Keep Calm and Carry On” gradually became the Internet sensation it is today.
