Authors Celebrate Valentine’s Day with #valentinesyourbook

Jamie Canavés is the Tailored Book Recommendations coordinator and Unusual Suspects mystery newsletter writer–in case you’re wondering what you do with a Liberal Arts degree. She’s never met a beach she didn’t like, always says yes to dessert, loves ‘80s nostalgia, all forms of entertainment, and can hold a conversation using only gifs. You can definitely talk books with her on Litsy and Goodreads. Depending on social media’s stability maybe also Twitter and Bluesky.

Whether you celebrate Valentine’s Day or Galentine’s Day, or glare at capitalism and couples while wishing you shot lasers out of your eyeballs, we can probably all agree on our love for books. I mean, that’s why we write about books and you read about books and we all read books! So I was delighted to discover #valentinesyourbook had started on Twitter, where authors use the classic “Roses Are Red” format to describe their book. Fun! Here are some of my favorites so far (some are under #valentineyourbook without the “s” cause thumbs man):
