While *My Funny Demon Valentine* isn’t the type of book I usually reach for, I’m so glad I gave it a chance. This story surprised me in the best way, delivering a whirlwind of romance, adventure, humor, and spice—all wrapped up in a fresh, fast-paced plot that kept me hooked from beginning to end.
One of the standout elements was the character development. Aurorar Ascher gives us a refreshingly unique take on demons and angels, creating a world that feels original and exciting. The characters are well fleshed out, with emotional depth and complexity that make them feel real—flaws, passions, loyalties, and all.
The storyline is easy to follow, and explanations come naturally and at just the right time. Nothing felt overly complicated or info-dumpy. What really added to the richness of the book was the multi-POV narration. Rather than being limited to one or two perspectives, the story is told through several characters’ eyes, which deepens the emotional stakes and gives a fuller picture of the events unfolding.
The pacing? Fast, fiery, and full of fun. There’s never a dull moment, with a mix of action, plot twists, laugh-out-loud humor, and plenty of spice. I especially loved the banter and bond between the demon brothers —their loyalty and unshakable connection were a huge highlight. It was heartwarming and added real emotional weight to the story.
As for the romance? Swoon-worthy. Eva is such a bold, brave, and talented heroine. Her musical gift and inner strength make her a perfect match for Asmodeus, the Prince of Lust himself. Their chemistry is electric from the start. And I can’t forget Eva’s mom, Jacqui—what a gem of a character! She brought humor and heart to the story in the best way.
Overall, this book had it all: romance, steam, humor, adventure, and unforgettable characters. The characterisation was chef's kiss, the plot was engaging, and the twists kept me on my toes. I honestly can’t wait for the rest of the series!

Good Plot and 🌶️🌶️
I really love when a book gives me a tease of what’s to come has me excited to see what happens next. I also felt this book had loveable characters and side characters that I’m excited to read their stories as well. I would say this book is a 2/5 for spice compared to other books I’ve read but that is very subjective. If you enjoy this trope then I think you will definitely enjoy this book! Looking forward to to reading the next one in March!!

Before I review I would like to warn you this book comes in a THIN paper container and my first copy came damaged from Amazon but they gave me a replacement! (This doesn’t reflect my rating tho)
DNF (my book club only made it to about chapter 15)
Sprayed edges? Gorgeous.
Tropes? Horror Comedy (not my vibe but yolo)
Sadly DNF but I might try again. I did audio book and my book club wasn’t a huge fan of the book. The story line didn’t flow for us but that doesn’t been it’s not for everyone! I’m giving it 3/5 stars bcuz I’ll probably finish it but I set it down over a month ago and haven’t picked it back up sooo idk
I love the “no one saw me or likes me until her” vibes but some of the content just isn’t for me. Maybe that’s bcuz I’m use to slow burns and long series.
I’ll update my review if I finish!

It's my fave genre and it felt like a soulmates trope for me because she's the only one who could REALLY see him for thousands of years and their chemistry is off the charts. Seems meant to be! I loved that they bonded over music as well as just wanting to rip each other's clothes off, so it wasn't only about the sex which some authors can make the mistake of doing. Their personalities and connection were so well written that surely there must be an Ash and Eva out there and this is a true story? How cool would that be?
A big thing for me is that the side characters are just as intriguing with their own personalities and quirks as the MCs and this book definitely had that. I'm actually in love with one of them and am now dying for his book... I must like the damaged, funny guys
