Erica Ezeifedi, Associate Editor, is a transplant from Nashville, TN that has settled in the North East. In addition to being a writer, she has worked as a victim advocate and in public libraries, where she has focused on creating safe spaces for queer teens, mentorship, and providing test prep instruction free to students. Outside of work, much of her free time is spent looking for her next great read and planning her next snack. Find her on Twitter at @Erica_Eze_.

Not too long ago, I wrote about how book clubs are having a moment for our Deep Dive newsletter. In addition to other reasons, it seems like our increased time at home — coupled with our love of books, of course — has led to us wanting to gather ‘round to talk mess and books more often.

I haven’t discussed book club things much in this newsletter, and thought I should start by letting you know of different monthly book club picks by various online book clubs. Below, I have the recent past selections of a few book clubs, and picks for May by a few others. If you’re looking for a good BIPOC book to read that will lend itself especially well to a book club environment, these are a great place to start.
