Don’t Care How, I Want It Now: My 5 Most Anticipated Fantasy Books of the Summer
I have a document with over 3,000 titles coming out in the remainder of 2025 to keep me aware of upcoming releases. For this post, I dipped into that list to pick my five most anticipated fantasy books of the summer. Now, I am patient with most things, but I really hate waiting to read books. Like, Veruca Salt levels of impatience. Luckily, there are so many other books that I can distract myself with available titles! But you can bet when these books are available, I’ll be zipping off on my broom to get them right away.
You’ll Love These Books as Much as the Kids Do
I already had some kids’ books in my own library from my childhood and profession, but it wasn’t until after my girls’ births when I started collecting books for them that visceral memories flooded back–the smell of the library I frequented as a kid, the sturdiness of a Little Golden Book, the vividly colored illustrations, the complete peace I experienced while nestled in the blankets with a book. I have the pleasure of revisiting some semblance of those feelings while reading aloud to my kids.
The Best Book Club Books of April
This is the second month in a row that I’ve opted to look back at the most book club-friendly books that came out in the current month. I think switching over to this method, as opposed to making a roundup at the very beginning of the month allows me to let some books marinate for a minute and see what people thought of them. It’s also better if you’d like to make one of these books the next read for your book club since they should all be out by the time this new list comes out.

Brand New Books By Trans and Non-Binary Authors
The Trans Rights Readathon might be over (for now), but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be reading trans and non-binary stories all year round. Especially when so many great books have been (and will be) published after March and beyond. Let’s keep supporting trans stories throughout 2025.
More Than Words: 6 Swoon-worthy Bookish Romance Novels
What could be more romantic for a book lover than romance that involves books? There are so many great romances that are set around bookstores, libraries, and authors. Meeting The One in a bookstore would be a dream come true. You love books, they love books—how perfect is that?? There’s a reason that there have been dozens of proposals and weddings in indie bookstores over the last several years. It’s because two people meeting among the shelves is such a romantic start to a relationship that popping the question and/or having your big day there too is the only way to start your next chapter.
