I used to read more non-fiction than fiction, but the past few months I’ve been on a bit of a fiction kick—especially fiction that are quick and easy reads. Those are the easiest ones to read with a small baby, when I’m tired and can only snatch a few moments here and there to read. More difficult books have been put aside for now, and I’m all about the page-turners.

Dangerous Minds by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton

Borrowed this from the library after finishing Curious Minds (see Outbox). More Knight and Moon adventures? Yes please.

There is a new Lincoln Rhyme novel!!! *hyperventilates slightly* Hands down my favourite crime fiction series. I didn’t even realise there was a new Lincoln Rhyme novel coming out until I spotted this in the bookshop. Cannot WAIT to get a free afternoon and stuck into this.

Curious Minds by Janet Evanovich and Phoef Sutton

I have long been a fan of Janet Evanovich, and I’ve read a lot of her romance as well as her crime novels (for the longest time, I wanted to visit Trenton, New Jersey, because of the Stephanie Plum series). Curious Minds is the first of the Knight and Moon novels and it’s a light and enjoyable read—well, as light as a novel can be with murders and criminal masterminds. Perhaps a little formulaic but I liked it.

the secret of happy ever after by lucy dillon book coverThe Secret of Happy Ever After by Lucy Dillon

This was a reread. Lucy Dillon’s newest novel, Where the Light Gets In, came out in April. As soon as I finished that I wanted to retreat into the fictional world of Longhampton so I went back and reread some of her older books. Her books are British romantic comedy at its best, and Longhampton is one of my favourite fictional universes. I wish I lived there.

Currently reading this one! I’m halfway through and enjoying it so far.

Aunty Lee’s Deadly Specials by Ovidia Yu

This is the second of the Aunty Lee mysteries. I picked this one up after enjoying the first one—I like a good light-hearted mystery and I like reading about food, and these are a great combination.
