Liberty Hardy is an unrepentant velocireader, writer, bitey mad lady, and tattoo canvas. Turn-ons include books, books and books. Her favorite exclamation is “Holy cats!” Liberty reads more than should be legal, sleeps very little, frequently writes on her belly with Sharpie markers, and when she dies, she’s leaving her body to library science. Until then, she lives with her three cats, Millay, Farrokh, and Zevon, in Maine. She is also right behind you. Just kidding! She’s too busy reading. Twitter: @MissLiberty

Franzen Comes Alive is a series of book-related playlists.

Here’s a playlist of songs I immediately think of when I think about Gone Girl. SPOILER ALERT: The song selections definitely give plot points of the book away – if you haven’t read it yet 1) OMG what are you waiting for? and 2) You may want to steer clear until then.

I’d love to hear what songs you’d put in the playlist. Also, as usual, it’s not all that safe for work.

“Amy” by Green Day

“Anniversary” by Tony! Toni! Toné!

“Where’d You Go?” by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones

“Used To Love Her” by Guns N’ Roses The video version is G N’ R; the Spotify link is a cover by Slightly Stoopid.

“An Innocent Man” by Billy Joel

“Better Than Revenge” by Taylor Swift

“Baby You Crazy” by Nick Curran and The Lowlifes R.I.P., Nick – we miss you.

“Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe It’s like my grandma always said: “Never trust a big butt and a smile.”

“Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)” by Mötley Crüe

“Getting Away With Murder” by Papa Roach

“Tear You Apart” by She Wants Revenge

“Back In Baby’s Arms” by Patsy Cline
