C.B. Strike, a new 7-episode miniseries based on J.K. Rowling’s Cormoran Strike crime novels, will premiere on CINEMAX on June 1 at 10 pm ET. Remaining episodes will follow on subsequent Fridays at the same time.

Rowling famously published the first book in the series, The Cuckoo’s Calling, in 2013 under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. She purportedly wanted to start over in a new genre without the hype surrounding her work. Three months after its publication, it was revealed on Twitter that the true author was the bestseller behind Harry Potter. Although disappointed, Rowling continued to publish under the pseudonym. Two more books followed: The Silkworm in 2015 and Career of Evil in 2016.

Now, Cormoran Strike is coming to the small screen in the CINEMAX miniseries, produced in association with the BBC. The series adapts all three novels in the Strike series, with the first book getting a three-episode arc and the remaining two books receiving a two-episode arc each. The series stars Tom Burke as Strike and Holliday Grainger as Robin Ellacott, Strike’s professional partner.

Cormoran Strike is a favorite on Book Riot. You can read more about the series here and here!
