Let’s Chat SUNRISE ON THE REAPING Film Casting Rumors

As soon as we knew Suzanne Collins was releasing another Hunger Games prequel, we knew there was going to be a movie. Sunrise on the Reaping tells the story of Haymitch Abernathy, one of the only victors from District 12, who would go on to mentor Katniss and Peeta in the original Hunger Games trilogy.

5 New Lesbian Memoirs and Biographies for Lesbian Visibility Week

It’s Lesbian Visibility Week! So, what better time to pick up a lesbian book? I was planning on making a list of new lesbian books to read and preorder, but I’m happy to say there were too many to choose from. So, I’ve narrowed it down to just new lesbian memoirs and biographies. Some of these came out last year, and some come out this year.

These memoirs and biographies explore the lives of lesbian activists, athletes, poets, actors, and more. We’ve got the memoir of an activist who fought for women’s, queer, and Maori liberation; the story of Olympic gold medalist Brittney Griner’s time in a Russian penal colony and how she endured; a biography of the inimitable poet Audre Lorde and her legacy; a biography of the women who ran a lesbian helpline in the 1990s; and an inside look at The L Word from two of the stars.

The Bestselling Books of the Week, According to All the Lists

Yet again, there isn’t a single title that made it into the top ten of all five of the biggest bestseller lists this week, and only one made it onto four: The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.

Send Burts of Joy With Bookish Snail Mail

As a person who equally loves sending snail mail to create a moment of unexpected joy for someone else, I was really excited to find some bookish postcards and greeting cards on Etsy. Now is an excellent time to send snail mail: not only are there great USPS stamps available (Betty White has a stamp!), but right now everyone can use a nice surprise in the mail that lets them know someone is thinking of them.

4 Books Like THE WILD ROBOT

I think I first fell in love with robots after watching The Iron Giant on VHS as a kid. That movie still stands the test of time as one of my favorites. The story of a robot with a soul who becomes a lonely kid’s best friend fills me up in a way that’s hard to put into words. I even chose a line from that movie as my senior high school yearbook quote, “You are who you choose to be.” There’s incredible humor and heart in The Iron Giant, and the same can be said for both the book and the film adaptation of The Wild Robot.
