There are very few people who would insist that I know anything about fashion. Okay, let’s be real, two of those are my friends and the other one probably just thinks I do queer-Old-Navy and ratty-ass-flannel well. But it’s pretty easy, even for my unfashionable eyes, to recognize that when books and fashion meet, great things can happen. Even though I don’t really understand clothes, I deeply appreciate it when people beautify the world with them. I love seeing it around me, and I recognize that books are a kind of fashion too. After all, how many of you judge books by their covers? Exactly. And forget books, how many of you judgeΒ peopleΒ by theirΒ books? Most of us? Okay, cool, that’s what I thought.

When someone here at Book Riot turned me on to the reality of books and fashion going together, I was a bit skeptical. But I decided, you know what? Maybe it’s time to get out of my comfort zone. Plus, I’ve just finished editing a book that’s all about fashion, so why not give it a go? Let’s give it a go together, and look at these incredible Instagram posts and account:

Kat The Librarian

missinformation has been around for a bit – at least, long enough to document having a baby! She describes herself as a children’s librarian “who’s really good at dressing herself” and boy howdy, is she:

Bookworm’s Closet

Okay, #booksandfashion/ #styledbybooks people, I wanted to feature some of my #lularoe dresses with some recent additions to my TBR. – πŸ“š. And yes, I'll mention the lovely gals who feed my addiction, I mean, give a shoutout to the retailers (aside: this is not sponsored, you know me, when I love something, I let the world know about it). – πŸ“š. @lularoekatiemay was the first LLR seller I tripped across quite innocently while perusing instagram. She's so fun and super creative, you guys, just take a look at her pics. – πŸ“š. She picked out this #lularoecarly for me. Little did she know, that WARCROSS arrived the very next day. A solid match for sure! – πŸ“š. πŸ“š. πŸ“š. #lularoe #booksanddresses #bookishfashion #books #booklr@#warcross #marielu #penguinteen #ireadya #youngadultbooks #yabooks #igreads #igbooks #booknerd #bookish #bookworm #bookwormlife #bookshimmy #carlydress #lularoecarly #booklook #ootd

Today is Matching Monday and a dedication to @dumbwitnesses who is a diehard Agatha fan. A little while ago she had this book in her story and I knew I had to find it to recreate the photo. Cause when you already have the props but not the book, it's obviously necessary to find the book. 🀣 β€’ β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€ β€’ Many of you know I've been a dancer my whole life and this point shoe was actually a souvenir from when I went to the Joffrey Ballet in '96. (Now I feel really old) At that time they did the Joffrey Billboard and the show was to Prince music and top hits. πŸ’œ β€’ πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€β€πŸ–€ β€’ Needless to say a photo recreation was a must (and don't worry, the pills are vitamins) 🀣 I hope everyone has a great Monday. We have off here in the states for Labor day and the sun is out (for now) so I'm going to take advantage. β˜‰ Hope you all have a great start to the week. β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ β€’ ________________________________ #matchingmonday #agathachristie #crimefiction #mondayfunday #pointeshoes #bookishfun #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #bibliophile #booknerd #bookworm #bookpeople #bookcommunity #bookcover #bookflatlay #booklife #booklover #booksanddance #booksofinstagram #bookstagramfeature #bookishfeature #bookporn #bookfun #bookphotography #bookcrazy #reader #readbooks #instadaily #igdaily #instabooks
