Need some reading material to boost your Christmas spirit? Here are five festive books to get you started.

A Family Christmas by Caroline Kennedy | 5 Festive Books for Christmas Enthusiasts1. A Family Christmas by Caroline Kennedy

Caroline Kennedy’s A Family Christmas is definitely my favorite book to crack open during the holidays. Beautifully illustrated by Jon J. Muth and Laura Hartman Maestro, it features classic selections from literature and poetry, carols and Bible verses, touching stories, and much more. One entry contains a letter from President Kennedy to a child who wrote to him concerned that the Russians would bomb the North Pole and endanger Santa’s life. Another entry details the rules the Macy’s Santa must follow during interactions with children. (“Macy’s Santa is always jolly. Macy’s Santa is a good listener.”) It’s a delightful celebration of the American Christmas tradition.

Winter Magic Coloring Book | 5 Festive Books for Christmas Enthusiasts2. Winter Magic: Beautiful Holiday Patterns to Color by ArsEdition

Fans of adult coloring books will enjoy the beautiful pictures and patterns in Winter Magic. It’s an excellent way to unwind after work in the weeks leading up to Christmas and it makes a great Advent gift!

Everything Christmas is a daily Advent reader consisting of heartwarming Christmas stories and remembrances, carols, poems, Bible verses, prayers, quotes, jokes, and recipes. Also included are historical, cultural, and other fun Christmas-related facts and trivia. (Did you know that in Italy, people fast from meat for twenty-four hours leading up to Christmas Eve?) There are even gift ideas and suggestions on how to enhance your celebration of the holiday. Each page of this little book is beautifully designed in subtle red and green print.
