Jenn Northington

Director, Editorial Operations

Jenn Northington has worked in the publishing industry wearing various hats since 2004, including bookseller and events director, and is currently Director of Editorial Operations at Riot New Media Group. You can hear her on the SFF Yeah! podcast nerding out about sci-fi and fantasy. When she’s not working, she’s most likely gardening, running, or (obviously) reading. Happy New Year, readers! As we roll into 2020, we’re launching updated Book Riot Insiders perks, and we are so excited to present them unto you!

Firstly, our quarterly exclusive store deal, available at all levels, is now expanding to include outside vendors! There are so many products and companies that we love, and we wanted to share those with you. This means that every three months there will be a new featured vendor whom we’ve worked with to create a deal just for you.

We’re also adding perks to the Novel level! In addition to the New Release Index and exclusive podcasts, we’re adding a weekly email that will feature all of that week’s releases from the New Release Index. No more worrying about missing a certain week, we’ll deliver it straight to your inbox.

We’ve got an all-new, all-awesome Epic level, organized around a big group read, and here’s how it’ll work:

  • Every three months, Epic-level subscribers will vote on a book from a list curated by staff, each of which will also satisfy a Read Harder 2020 task.
  • You’ll get a discount on book orders from our bookstore partner, Print.
  • We’ll read along together, with page goals, discussion questions, and food for thought provided by that quarter’s discussion leader from the Book Riot staff.
  • Then, on the second Saturday of the last month of the quarter, we’ll have a video-chat book club! And not to worry—even if you can’t make the live chat, we’ll post a recording afterwards, alongside a post to wrap it all up.
  • There’s no cap on Epic subscriptions; come one, come all!

But wait, there’s more. The Epic level also has perks for All The Books, the Book Riot Podcast, and Get Booked:

  • All The Backlist: Looking for recommendations on a particular theme? Submit your ideas via an Insiders-only form, and the Backlist hosts will pick at least one listener request each quarter, complete with a shout-out on air!
  • The Book Riot Podcast: Help Jeff and Rebecca decide on bonus episodes! You’ll get to vote on options, as well as submit suggestions, and get occasional shout-outs on air.
  • Get Booked: Hoping Jenn and Amanda will get to your question sooner than later? Epic subscribers can submit their questions for fast-tracking. Accio book recs!

All these can be yours—visit insiders.bookriot.com to start your subscription. Ready? Set? Go!
