This adorable scarf features everyone’s favorite talkative redhead, Anne of Green Gables. More specifically, it shows the title page and first page of Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery’s 1908 novel that sparked a series of sequels and a whole worldwide industry of Anne fever. What better thing for a book lover to wrap oneself in than a scarf with actual book text printed on it? Other cozy literary scarves and wraps are also available in this Etsy shop. I have an Emma one, and it is soft and delightful.
Once upon a time I loved Ann M. Martin’s Baby-Sitters Club books. There’s just something so fundamentally cool about Kristy, Mary Anne, Claudia, Stacey, Dawn, Jessi, and Mallory. I wear this t-shirt to programming at the library and all the kids think it’s really awesome. It is really awesome. The t-shirt is made of some high quality cotton (I know nothing about fabrics!)– it hasn’t shrunk or wrinkled (and I always make things shrink and wrinkle)! Don’t think about it, just buy it!
This mug is magic. Not because it’s heat reactive – that’s just science (I assume). The magical power of this mug is its ability to entertain your coworkers during even the most boring meetings. As your beverage cools and the titles are blacked out, those paying more attention to the mug than the meetings – i.e., the readers in the room – are bound to be confused and/or delighted. Plus, it’s full of TBR ideas, which is a fun bonus.
I was an original backer of Litographs, so it’s safe to say I am a fan — but nothing they’ve put out yet is as exciting to me as these blankets! Made out of fleece, they’re full of words from some of our favorite books: The Princess Bride, The Little Prince, Outlander, Jane Eyre, The Lightning Thief, the poems of Phyllis Wheatley, the list goes on and on! The range is great, the colors are gorgeous, and the best thing about giving a blanket as a gift is you don’t have to worry about sizing. You just need to know what books they love, and I bet you already know that. Plus, who doesn’t want to snuggle up to read under words? So on brand.
Badass patches to sew onto your jacket, messenger bag, forehead, or wherever. They will proudly declare to the world that you live the literary life! If you’re so hardcore about reading, you skipped book club, and started a book gang, these are for you. You’re not a book worm – you’re a book dragon. You can buy these as a set or separately. And heads up: the rest of Miss Happy Pink’s book collection is also uh-mazing.
P.S. Please don’t really sew these on your forehead.
A lot of us are busy and don’t have time to mess around explaining all of the things we enjoy. The solution to that problem? Wear your favorite things on your sleeve (or technically chest, but you get it). Wearing this shirt tells people immediately that you like both books and bourbon, bypassing at least a few steps in the tedious process of getting to know someone. Other key info: the shirt is comfortable and soft, but it is fitted, so if you’re debating between sizes, you might want to order up.
I heard about these for the first time on the podcast Reading Glasses. Basically, they give you a way to stamp the first page of your books with a logo signifying who the book belongs to. This one is great because it is customizable and features the tagline, “From the library of:”
I like lists. I especially like lists of things I like, like dogs, books, and coffee. Slap those three things on a shirt, and I’m so there. I can just walk into a room and inform every one of my three favorite things without having to open my mouth. Dogs! Books! Coffee! All the best things!
I love the symbolism of the Patronus Charm in the Harry Potter series. Since I can’t have an actual corporeal animal friend to follow me around and keep the darkness at bay, this ring would be a constant reminder to summon the good memories during rough times, knowing that this too shall pass.
With the First Lines of Literature Coffee Mug, you can memorize famous first lines over your morning cup of coffee or tea. Once these quotes are lodged firmly in your brain, go forth and show off your uncanny ability to rattle off the opener to several different novels. But, the best part? The mug is massive. (Yes, yes, we all have too many mugs — I promise this one is worth it!)
The perfect gift for your favorite Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, or Slytherin! I mean, who doesn’t love a campfire mug? Especially one with your Hogwarts House on it. I love that these mugs feature House traits from the Sorting Hat songs, and that they’re all so different and yet equally adorable. Because, honestly, what do book nerds and Potterheads love more than representing their love of books while sipping a hot beverage? Nothing, that’s what. Trust me, I’ve gifted these to several Potter fans—they’re always a big success.
Our homes always need more bookish decor, and nothing is more adorable than Ideal Bookshelf’s prints based on the original work by Jane Mount. Select a particular collection (Novels of the 1800s, Banned Books, Black Writers, Mysteries, and so many more) and behold as art graces your walls depicting the spines and cover art of the world’s most beloved books. These prints are full of charm and whimsy and booknerdery!
Have you ever gotten super into your book only to forget about your coffee? The next thing you know, your brew’s gone cold, and you have to start the perpetual task of heating it in the microwave then letting it cool down enough to drink.
Grab an insulated coffee mug, and you can lose yourself in your book without your coffee getting cold.
All Jane Austen fans have their favorite hero. With this screen printed t-shirt you can wear them all proudly, from Darcy to Wentworth to Collins (who you can also request be left of the shirt). What a conversation starter! Jane Austen swag often is frilly and ornate – which I love – but this is the perfect understated gift for the Austenites on your gift list this year.
Tired of the little bump your average clip-on book light leaves on your pages? Read while the lights are out with a less intrusive (and destructive) way to light up each page and keep track when you’re ready for bed (or it’s time to get up). It’s battery powered, so you don’t have to charge it or replace it when it runs out of power. The perfect gift for the bookworm who has been keeping you up with their lamp.
I love a touch of whimsy in my bookshelves, and absolutely love these mountain bookends because of that. They’re a fantastic find for the hiking readers in your life (or reading hikers), for a fantasy-themed kid’s room, or a cabin retreat. They’re handmade and also come in navy blue and gray options.
This buzzy Nigerian mystery/thriller is the perfect gift for book lovers. It’s a quick, engaging read, and since it was only released in late November, there’s a good chance your loved one hasn’t already read it. Korede has always been overshadowed by her attractive and charming little sister, Ayoola. And when Ayoola starts murdering the men she dates, Korede gets stuck cleaning up the messes. It’s dark, witty, and thought-provoking, equal parts twisty-turny thriller and smart commentary on domestic violence.
Personalize this metal bookmark with a special message in your own handwriting. The stainless metal bookmark lays flat against the book spine so you can admire it even when you’re not reading. It’s a perfect gift for the book lover or bookstagrammer in your life. Let the shelfies begin!
For all of you who already take your books everywhere you go, here’s a customizable purse made from a Sherlock Holmes book! You can choose both the button for the snap and type of handle. (And if you prefer another book, NovelCrafts have many other books you can choose from).
Every day the world wrecks itself a little more and it’s hard to keep my head in the game. This is the perfect, empowering reminder that I can do something. That thinking is fighting. That I’m contributing to making the world a better place by being mentally present and engaged. This print is a perfect gift for any feminist reader.
Ugly sweater parties get more and more popular every year. Don’t you want to show off your love of all things bookish/comics/Wonder Woman? There are a lot of super hero-themed ugly sweaters out there, but most of them are screen printed. This is a high quality sweater with the Wonder Woman logo and pattern actually knitted in. It may not give you super strength, but this comfy and cute sweater will make you (or your loved one) the star of any holiday party.
