It’s a busy Friday for news, but definitely take a moment to check this out: Kerry Washington and Rashida Jones have partnered with BOOM! Studios to adapt Goldie Vance into a feature film!

Written by Hope Larson and illustrated by Brittney Williams, Goldie Vance revolves around a 16-year-old aspiring detective. As her sleuthing skills lead her into suspicious activities happening around the hotel she works at, Goldie realizes there’s a lot more to solving crimes than meets the eye. It’s a delightful series, with colours that pop right off the page and keep you flipping pages–I often wait until issues are collected into trade paperbacks, so that I can get a bunch of Goldie’s adventures in one go.

Jones will be writing the script and Washington is helming the film as the director, and I can’t think of a more perfect pair to bring Goldie and friends to life. In their hands, I’m sure we’ll get a film that more than matches the charm, heart, and hilarity of the comic.
