Outlander Star and Writers Clash Over Book Change: Critical Linking, October 30

There’s trouble in lovers’ paradise: Outlander star Sam Heughan and the writers of the series have taken their disagreement over a change to a popular, beloved book scene public. It seems Heughan went off script—and it’s not just the fans who are displeased with his choice.

It’s a tiny change, but big to the fans.

Clea DuVall, who has been doing recent television stints on Veep and Better Call Saul, is moving to Gilead as she joins the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale for its second season, per THRDuVall will play Sylvia, the wife of Emily (Alexis Bledel), who was condemned in the first season as a “gender traitor” for having a relationship with another woman, a Martha.

Ohhh, nice casting.

The Turkish novelist Elif Shafak is to follow Margaret Atwood, David Mitchell and Sjón as one of the 100 contributors to the Future Library, an art project that will only be seen by readers in 2114, when the spruce trees to make its paper have been fully grown.

I love this idea.
