Another week full of books! Though most of my reading these days is via audiobooks, my grandma is in the hospital (she’s recovering now, thank you) so I actually read a whole print book. I went on a bit of a request binge recently. I told myself I wouldn’t request until I reduced my TBR, but…I kept seeing new books by Adam Silvera and E. Lockhart and Star Wars books and I’m so weak, y’all.
Inbox (Books Acquired)
Life 3.0: Being Human in the Age of Artificial Intelligence by Max Tegmark (audiobook)
I’m on a quest to read more nonfiction this year but (as you can probably tell by the rest of this list) it’s been a struggle. Too many good books, not enough time!
Do I even need to say anything about this one? *drools*
I know they say don’t judge a book by its cover, but this cover is stunning!
I cannot wait to read more about this Star Wars character who managed to intrigue me, despite so little screen time in the movie.
Outbox (Books Finished)
This is the print book I mentioned in my intro, which is great because it has charming illustrations sprinkled throughout the book. It was fun and light-hearted with just a dash of danger, which was a great thing when so much else was happening around me. I kinda wish the Book Scavenger game was real—it’s like geocaching but with puzzles and if you get there first, you get a free book!
I checked this audiobook out from the library after hearing so much about it on Twitter. Alisha Wainwright (Maia from the Shadowhunters TV show) narrates with heart.
In the Queue (What I’m Reading Next)
I wasn’t going to open this email from the publisher, since my TBR list is a bit out of control, but I could not resist when I saw “new from E. Lockhart.” I loved We Were Liars so much and am really looking forward to this one.
Adam Silvera was the keynote speaker at the Orlando Book Festival in July and I’m excited to read more from him.
So how has your reading week been? What books did you finish and what books are you looking forward to reading next?
