Am I Alone Here?: Notes on Living to Read and Reading to Live by Peter Orner
Omnilegent people – this one is for you! (Don’t worry, I had to look that word up, too.) Orner has written a book for bibliomaniacs wrapped up in a memoir. Am I Alone Here is a thoughtful examination of what books means to us, and how the way we respond to a book can be as much about when it comes into our lives at what is inside it. He also discusses the lives of several famous authors, and what their words did – and didn’t – mean, as well as sharing personal stories about becoming a parent, going through a divorce, and losing his father. Get ready to underline pretty much the whole book.
