Do You Buy Books You Never Read? There’s a word for that: Today in Critical Linking

The moment goes something like this: Skim fascinating book review online. Buy on Amazon with 1-click. Scroll down. Buy two other titles with 1-click. Leave books on bedside table. Repeat two weeks later. Scold yourself for killing the trees.

It’s an affliction so common that there’s a word for it in Japanese, and a support group on Goodreads.

Tsundoku. It could happen to any of us.

Starting October 11, for a limited time we’ll be emailing eleven fiction tales directly to readers, all written in the first person. Dive into a great story when you need a quick escape from daily stresses.

Every week, a different Penguin Random House author will take over the newsletter, including award-winning and bestselling authors like Anthony Marra, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, and Adam Johnson.

Ok, interesting. The goal is to introduce writers to authors they don’t know apparently?

The American Gods comic series will feature three story arcs: Shadows, My Ainsel, and The Moment of the Storm. The first of twenty-seven issues, entitled American Gods: Shadows #1, will be published on March 15, 2017.

Really should make for a beautiful comic series. I always wonder how these comic adaptations sell, though.
