Do You Read More Than the Average American?: Today in Critical Linking

The average number of books read by survey respondents: 12. However, this average might be skewed by people who’ve read far more than 12 books in a year, as the median number read was just four.

I am guessing if you are reading this, you read more than the average American.

The Navy SEAL who wrote a best-selling book detailing the secretive raid that killed al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden must pay the federal government at least $6.8 million under a deal reached Friday to avoid prosecution for not getting pre-publication approval for the work.

Apparently, the Navy doesn’t love former SEALs writing about classified missions. 

A man who worked for almost 50 years as a librarian at the University of New Hampshire left the school an astonishing $4 million after his death last year. UNH announced the gift in a press release earlier this week.
