The 200 Happiest Words in Literature: Today in Critical Linking

Using the website Mechanical Turk, where anyone can sign up for odd jobs—many of them related to academic research—researchers asked people to rate the happiness quotient of the words they encountered.

Weirdly, “happiness” itself is not at the top of this list of the 200 Happiest Words in Literature.


To find the most beautiful libraries in each state, Tech Insider looked at past and current award-winners as judged by the American Institute of Architects and the American Library Association awards, and relied on our own judgment for states who have never won.

After more than eight decades of operation, the Rikers Island Correctional Facility has opened its first ever permanent public library. Located inside the Rose M. Singer Center for women, the library has been dubbed the unofficial 93rd branch of the New York Public Library (NYPL) system, and will open for six hours every Tuesday.
