Millennials Read More Than People Over 30: Critical Linking for April 11, 2016

The organization surveyed of more than 6,000 U.S. adults and found that 88 percent of Americans under the age of 30 revealed that they had read a book in the past year compared with 79 percent of those people over the age of 30.

Seriously, stop talking about how young people don’t read. You’re making it up.

If you’ve never heard of Black Panther, that’s about to change. Not only will he soon be incorporated into the Marvel cinematic universe in the new Captain America film, but Coates’s first issue of the comic has already hit sales of more than 300,000 copies, more than twice the demand for the previous month’s bestselling comic, Dark Knight III.

Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Black Panther run is already sold out and going back for a second printing (I’ve read it–it’s amazing).

But that brevity has its advantages, and its own special rewards. So for all you story-averse readers out there, here are some terrific starter collections selected especially to help ease the transition from long to short form.

I’ve read a few of these 9 Collections of Astounding Short Stories and they are, in fact, astounding.
