I’m in the middle of about a dozen books right now because so! Many! Choices! Let’s talk about it:
Inbox (Books Acquired)
The Regional Office is Under Attack! by Manuel Gonzales (April 12, Riverhead) — Hi my name is Amanda and I will read literally anything Riverhead publishes, nice to meet you, coffee is in the back. Of course, a novel about a “coterie of super-powered female assassins” will not be the first exception.
Outbox (Books Finished)
The Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes — Finished this one on audio, and it’s just as hilarious, insightful, and wise as you’d expect a book to be coming from the woman who created Olivia Pope. Especially poignant and helpful for me were her chapters on being a working mother and how no working mom can “have it all,” but neither can working dads and no one yells at them! (Also, again, Shonda if you’re out there: I need Fitz to die, he’s so annoying, please do me this solid.)
In the Queue (What I’m Reading Next)
The City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin (May 24, Ballantine Books) — Finally finally finally! The third book in The Passage trilogy! I got about a third into this and had to put it down to read stuff for the Best Translated Book Award (long list coming soon!) and I’m chomping at the bit to get back into it and see what’s happened to Alicia and the rest of the crew.
Ok readers, I showed you mine, now you show me yours!
