The Italian writer and philosopher Umberto Eco, best known for his novel The Name of the Rose, has died aged 84. According to a family member who asked not to be identified, he died late on Friday from cancer.

Unfortunately, Eco’s death was overshadowed in the U.S. by Lee’s passing. But still, book lovers know to mourn him as well.


Imagine telling a comic fan 10 years ago that Archie in 2016 would include a scene with two LGBTQA guys casually talking about their orientations. It’s kind of incredible.

Until I started paying attention to comics again a few years ago, I didn’t realize how interesting the Archie Universe really is. With Jughead being revealed as asexual recently, I am glad I am plugged back in.
