Every week, a different Panelteer will give you a rundown of the comics they’re most looking forward to for the week. Floppies, trades and omniboo are all fair game here. This week, Andi tells us what’s on her pull list.
The blogging world is on fire for #ComicsFebruary this month, and that means I’m extra excited to dig into some new-to-me and established faves.
Batgirl Volume 2: Family Business by Cameron Stewart, Brenden Fletcher, Babs Tarr, et al.
I’ve been reading Batgirl in singles since Stewart, Fletcher, and Tarr took the wheel, and it’s one of my absolute favorite series. While I’m up-to-date on reading the singles, I am constantly tempted to go on and buy trades for my shelves and re-reading. If you have the same inkling, check out Charles’s post from last week about his dream of digital-plus-trade subscriptions. I am REALLY feeling that dream right now.
Bitch Planet #7 from Kelly Sue DeConnick, Valentine De Landro, and Taki Soma
Such a given. Who doesn’t want it? Don’t answer me if you don’t. Every new issue just reminds me that my NC tattoo is way overdue. I’m also behind by a few issues, so I’m looking forward to settling in for a significant chunk of kickass reading.
Pre-ordered! I can’t wait for it to drop on my porch! I started the series reluctantly since Hollywood noir is not necessarily my jam, but it only took one issue to get me hooked, and here we are at the series end. Saddies.
Lumberjanes #23 by Shannon Watters, Kat Leyh, Carey Pietsch, Maarta Laiho, Aubrey Aiese, and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell
I’m a tried and true Lumberjanes fan, but that mermaid arc was not my fave. I’m so glad we’re on to Seafarin’ Karen (who is AMAZING) and Molly is off learning cool secret bits from the Bear Woman. Even through authorial and artist changes, I am a Lumberjane right down to my core.
