Off-Panel: Women Are Reading More Comics

“Disney will break ground next year on its hotly anticipated Star Wars-themed lands at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida, and Disneyland in Anaheim, California.”

“Either way, since comics started offering realistic female characters — including lesbians, feminists and confident women who don’t let males dictate who or why they are — they have returned to the comic fold. Yet, there’s plenty that comic publishers can do to reach more women.”

More women than men are now reading comics, according to this article. The stats are a bit of irresponsible journalism (that seem to be from here), as they are imperfect at best, but hey, more women reading comics is always a thing to celebrate.

“Republican Presidential Candidate Ted Cruz made headlines Thursday at a rally when he proposed the resurrection of the Comics Code Authority under the new leadership of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis.”
