This post originally appeared on Panels, which is now Book Riot Comics

Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.

“Father’s Days: A cartoonist’s journey into first-time fatherhood.”

Father’s Day was yesterday here in the United States. If you’re still feeling nostalgia-y about your own dad, or are a dad yourself, well this won’t help the situation.

“Alan Rickman inhales helium, talks about Harry Potter.”

Really, do I need to elaborate any more on why you need to watch this? (I’m decreeing this as comics-related because I want Harry Potter comics.)

“Campbell’s recent brave decision to come out publicly as a transgender woman — as well as comics publisher IDW’s support of her by reprinting comics under her new name — has helped visibility for trans comics creators to take a giant leap forward. We had the chance to chat with Campbell for an exclusive interview and shine a spotlight on her love of Jem, her artistry, and living free as an out transgender woman.”

This interview of Sophie Campbell, the artist behind Jem & the Holograms, is wonderful.
