Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.

Marvel has finally elaborated on an announcement they made to a room full of comic book retailers at C2E2 last month – that the publisher will be jumping ahead 8 months in story time after Secret Wars, similar to the recent “Time Runs Out” or DC’s “One Year Later” storylines.”

Erm. Okay. Let’s see how this goes.

“Viewing the Supergirl trailer through the lens of this sketch because of their similarity in delivery is easy, but it erases this context, overwriting it with something much more regressive: that being typically “girly” is bad.”

The Mary Sue has smart words for those comparing the Supergirl trailer to the fake Black Widow SNL trailer.

“Simon Cowell is to co-produce a Hollywood film about Brian Epstein called The Fifth Beatle. The pop Svengali said he has always been fascinated by the life story of the man he regards as the “most talented manager ever”. The film was written by Vivek Tiwary and is an adaptation of his graphic novel, which tells the story of how Epstein discovered The Beatles in Liverpool before guiding them to worldwide success.”

Considering I loved the comic, I’m excited about this news.
