Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.

“SHIELD will turn 50 later this year, and Marvel is celebrating with not just kisses to the organisation’s past, but with a series of one-shot comics featuring SHIELD’s finest female agents, including Agents of SHIELD’s finest badass, Melinda May.”

YES. Am I the only one who wants a solo Melinda May comic run?

“I just wanted my name to be Travis, not Sanjay.”

I cannot WAIT for this short. I would cry happy tears if it was turned into a movie.

“Bookstores aiming to please the censor found an unlikely victim: “Maus,” the Pulitzer-Prize winning graphic novel about a Jewish family during the Holocaust. Muscovites discovered this week that the book, which bears a swastika on its cover, had been quietly stripped from the shelves of the largest bookstores across the Russian capital.”

In an effort to get rid of Nazi symbols in Russia, they got rid of Maus. Sigh.
