Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.

“Godzilla, who has attacked and destroyed Tokyo no fewer than 28 times, was honored Thursday by the city, adding tourism ambassador and honorary resident of Shinjuku ward to his responsibilities as King of the Monsters.”

Godzilla as ambassador? Everything about this is YES.

“So many of comics most iconic heroes are so old at this point, items from their genesis are hard to come by. So when H.G. Peter’s first sketch for William Marston’s new female superheroine Wonder Woman goes to auction, it’s a rare glimpse into the history of one of the most iconic female superheroes ever.”

Okay, I don’t usually make a huge deal over these sorts of things, but this is pretty cool.

“Marvel’s Avengers may rule the box office, but DC’s Batman is king of e-commerce.”

This is interesting and somehow not surprising.
