Our daily round-up of news around the comics space, from the gutters and beyond.
“The rivalry that’s been building for a while — at least since the pair met in the Mos Eisley cantina — finally boiled over into an intense, and surprisingly expressive, rap battle between Groot and Hodor.”
You don’t really need to watch the whole video to get an idea of what’s going on here, but it’s pretty amusing, especially with how passionate Groot gets.
“When people complain that female comic book heroes are overly sexualized, one of the most common counterarguments is that male superheroes are also drawn with attractive, muscular bodies designed to be ogled. Andrew Wheeler over at Comics Alliance eloquently explains why that simply isn’t true—male muscles aren’t equivalent to female curves because both are drawn to appeal to male readers, albeit in different ways.”
“Your brief and wondrous guide to contemporary queer comics. Some like girls. Some like boys. Some are into sci-fi. Others prefer comedy. All are very into comics.”
I wouldn’t call this “brief” (really, can any topic so big be briefly summarized?) but it certainly is wondrous.
