On April 10, Netflix cuts the ribbon on 13 episodes of their all new Daredevil live action series. That makes April 10-12 a truly rad weekend to be a Marvel fan with access to a Netflix account, and a truly awful one if you don’t.

Let’s have a look-see.

Thus far, all signs have pointed to a darker tone more in line with the Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev run on the title from the turn of the millennium, and this new trailer really hammers that home. Drooling blood? Staring at all-white canvases in an art gallery ripped from David Fincher’s daydreams?

Yeah, we’re looking at some grit. It feels like we’ve been abducted from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it, forced into the trunk of an unmarked Lincoln Continental and ushered into the deleted scenes of Michael Mann’s Manhunter. Shades of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. this is not, and I think that’s okay.

Thoughts?
