Last Thursday, the White House hosted a “Fireside Hangout” with President Obama and select individuals from around the country. These individuals were able to ask questions and interact with the President via a Google+ Hangout. The event was meant to be reminiscent of Franklin Roosevelt’s “Fireside Chats,” a series of radio addresses he delivered in the 1930s and 1940s. It somehow seems appropriate that noted history nerd, YouTube celebrity, and bestselling YA author John Green would be chosen as one of the participants. Here’s a look at what Green discussed with the President.

If you’d like to watch the entire Hangout, the White House has it posted to its YouTube page. Or, check out more of our coverage of the YA author here.
