Entrekin said that some of the recent National Book Award fiction lists, which usually get the most attention, had been “very eccentric” and that allowing critics and booksellers as judges could open up the process. The results, he thinks, will be a “little more mainstream,” and less likely to include “a collection of stories by a university press.”

I mean because dammit I am so sick of the crazy amount of attention short stories and university presses get.


“I published the first of my 15 self-published books in November of 2010, and I’ve never looked back,” she said.

Man, at that pace I doubt you can even look up from your keyboard.

Holy crap. By my math, The 50 Shades Trilogy sold more copies than the other top 30 best-selling titles COMBINED: 10.58 million compared to 10.46 million. (This is UK sales data).
