We love our readers, and we love what they have to say just as much. Here are some of our favorite comments from the week that was.
“You should run Hollywood, you really should. Or at least bookriot. whoever is running bookriot right now should step down in awestruckitude.”
by Aregee on The CLOUD ATLAS Trailer Rundown
“I love how you destroy the sentimental, romanticized notion of the inveterate, effortless reader. Reading is hard sometimes, and we need to coax our heads back to the game.”
by Pavritha Srinivasan on If Reading Were an Olympic Sport
“If you top the iTunes “Paid Book Chart,” good for you — but that’s nothing like cracking the New York Times bestseller list, which takes into account multiple bookstores (including ebook sales).”
by Andrew Shaffer on Crowdsourced Fake Erotica Book Soars Up iBookstore Charts
“Just forbid personal attacks and abusive behavior, and then define it. If I say the author didn’t seem to know the subject matter very well, that’s not an attack, it is a statement of opinion. If I say the author is ugly and untalented, that is an attack and shouldn’t be allowed. And clearly there are some reviewers who have started wars with authors on Goodreads. That isn’t good for the book community or the authors. Although clearly both sides should have know better.”
