We’re finally getting our first look at the Mary Shelley biopic starring Elle Fanning (Super 8Maleficent) that has been in the works for at least two and a half years. Previously titled A Storm in the Stars, the film depicts the relationship between the 18-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft and poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, which eventually led to young Mary penning Frankenstein.

I didn’t know this movie was happening!


In addition to panels whose conversations will veer toward the Trump administration, the travel ban, and what are viewed as Trump’s ongoing challenges to free speech, there are several major protests activities planned, unaffiliated with AWP itself.

The Association of Writers and Writers Programming isn’t having any of Trump’s shenanigans.


A dispiriting portrait of the “real” Mr Darcy, showing Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice hero as a pale, slope-shouldered, weedy character, thin of mouth and chin with his hair powdered white, has been created by a panel of experts through studying contemporary fashions and social history.

Well, what’s hot then isn’t necessarily what’s hot now.
